BetPro Exchange, also written BPExch, is a betting exchange used in Pakistan: instead of betting against a bookmaker, members bet against each other, backing an outcome to happen or laying it not to. The exchange matches the two sides and charges commission only on the net winnings of a market. One free ID covers the cricket and sports markets, the live casino and your wallet, funded from PKR 500 by Easypaisa or JazzCash. Adults 18 and over.
- 01An exchange matches members against members — there is no bookmaker setting the price
- 02Back = it will happen · Lay = it will not; you can take either side
- 03Commission is charged only on net winnings on a market, never on a loss
- 04Exposure is money committed to open positions; it is not lost, and not yet available
- 05One ID: cricket and sports markets, live casino, wallet — free to open, funded from PKR 500
- 06Payouts go only to a wallet in the account holder's own name
A bookmaker sets a price. An exchange has none of its own.
Walk into a bookmaker and the price on the board is theirs. They decided it, they built their margin into it, and when you bet, they are the other side. If you win, they pay. If you lose, they keep it.
An exchange has no board of its own. The prices you see on BetPro Exchange are offers from other members: some wanting to back an outcome at a given price, some wanting to lay it. The exchange matches a backer to a layer and steps out of the way. It makes money by charging a commission on the winner’s profit, not by being on the other side of the bet.
Two things follow from that. The prices tend to be better, because nobody is building a margin into them. And you can take either side of any market — you can bet that something will not happen, which a bookmaker never offers.
Back and lay, with numbers
Take a PSL match, Lahore against Karachi, and a market on Lahore to win at odds of 2.0.
Back Lahore for PKR 1,000 at 2.0. If Lahore win, you receive PKR 2,000 back — your stake plus PKR 1,000 profit. If they lose, you lose the PKR 1,000 stake. Your maximum loss is the stake. This is the bet everyone already understands.
Lay Lahore for PKR 1,000 at 2.0. Now you are the one saying “Lahore will not win”, and somebody else is backing them against you. If Lahore lose or the match is tied, you win PKR 1,000 — the backer’s stake. If Lahore win, you pay the backer their profit: at 2.0, that is PKR 1,000. So at odds of exactly 2.0, a lay risks the same as a back.
Lay Lahore for PKR 1,000 at 3.0. This is where people get caught. The backer stands to make PKR 2,000 profit on their PKR 1,000, and if Lahore win, you pay that PKR 2,000. Your liability — the most you can lose — is stake × (odds − 1): PKR 1,000 × 2 = PKR 2,000. You typed 1,000; you risked 2,000.
The dashboard shows the liability figure before you confirm. Read it. On a phone screen at the end of a long evening, skimming past that number is the single most expensive habit on an exchange, and it is why the Islamabad guide tells people to use a laptop for real money.
Matched, unmatched, and in-play
When you place a back or a lay, it only becomes a bet when the exchange finds a member on the other side at your price. Until then it sits unmatched — visible, cancellable, costing nothing. If the price moves away before it matches, it may stay unmatched until the market closes, in which case it simply expires.
Once a market goes in-play — the match has started — prices move with every ball. A back placed at 2.0 before the toss and a back placed at 1.5 after Lahore are 80 for none are different bets at different prices, and both can be matched against different members. Nothing about in-play changes how settlement works; it changes how fast prices move while you are deciding.
Commission: on winnings, never on losses
The exchange charges commission on the net winnings of a market, after it settles.
Net means your bets on that market are added up first. Back Lahore for 1,000 and lay Lahore for 500 on the same market, and the result nets to one figure before commission is considered. Win overall on the market, and commission comes off that profit. Lose overall, and nothing is charged — there is no commission on a losing market and none on a deposit, a withdrawal or an unmatched bet.
This matters for one reason beyond the arithmetic: it is how the people around the account earn. The desk that supports your ID receives a share of the commission the exchange charges on it. So the desk is paid when you win and keep playing, and paid nothing when you lose and leave — which is the right way round. The about page says this in plain terms, because it is the question worth asking of anyone who opens accounts.
Balance, exposure, and why the number looks wrong
Three numbers run an exchange account, and the second one causes most of the questions the desk gets.
Balance is what you can bet with or withdraw right now.
Exposure is money committed to positions that have not settled yet. Back Lahore for 1,000 and your balance drops by 1,000 while 1,000 appears in exposure. It has not gone anywhere. When the market settles it comes back as balance — 2,000 if Lahore win, 0 if they lose. On a lay, the exposure is the liability, which is why a PKR 1,000 lay at 3.0 moves 2,000 out of balance.
The statement is the timestamped record of every deposit, stake, settlement and withdrawal. It is the thing that answers every “where did my money go” — and it never relies on memory, which is why the desk points to it first. Reading it properly is a five-minute skill.
If a withdrawal is refused despite the balance looking sufficient, exposure is the reason nine times out of ten. Settle or close the open positions and the money becomes available.
What the exchange covers
One ID, one wallet, and from it:
- Cricket — PSL, international fixtures, the major T20 leagues, with match, innings and over markets, pre-match and in-play.
- Other sports — football, tennis and a handful more, with the same back-and-lay mechanics.
- Live casino — dealer tables and the crash-style games, from the same balance.
Because the wallet is shared, nothing moves between “sports” and “casino” balances. One number, one statement.
Getting an account
Free, with no documents. Register on the portal — account name, password, WhatsApp number — and it is live in about two minutes. Or message the desk and have it opened in about five. Then sign in once with a zero balance to confirm the ID works before any money moves, and fund it from PKR 500 by Easypaisa or JazzCash, or PKR 1,000 by bank, from a wallet in your own name.
The step-by-step version is the account opening guide. A BetPro ID is the same thing as the account, and BPExch is the same thing as BetPro Exchange — three names, one login.
On the law
BetPro Exchange is an offshore platform, and online betting in Pakistan sits in a restricted and unsettled area of the law. This desk opens and supports accounts; it does not give legal advice, and nothing on this site should be read as a statement about what applies to you. Adults only, and your own decision.
